2010 Club Goals
Club goals set by the District
Listed below are goals that District 1-D has set for each club.
- Each club will have at least a +1 for membership.
- Each club will have an orientation program and manual for new members
- Each club will encourage ladies and young adults to become members.
100% President's Award
- Your club shall comply with the Association Constitution and By-laws and the policies of the International Board of Directors.
- Your club shall have no unpaid balances to International as of the end of the fiscal year, June 30th.
- Attend two zone meetings in person and have representation at all other zone meetings.
- Your club must complete three of the following:
- Have officer representation (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure) at District Training.
- Participate in one inter-club activity.
- Conduct one major fundraising activity with substantial membership participation
- Have one presentation each of an International, State, and Foundation program or activity.
- Have representation at conventions of your District or State.
- You must complete three of the following:
- Personally sponsor one new member to be inducted prior to June 30 each year.
- Attend District training for Presidents.
- Attend District Golf or Awards event.
- Tour the Center for Sight & Hearing.
- Attend at least one Lion's convention: either District, State, or International.
- Eligibility requires recommendation by the zone chairman and must be certified by the District Governor.
- Your 100% award application must be submitted by your Club Secretary to your Zone Chairman no later than two weeks after the completion of your year as President. The Vice District Governor and Zone Chairman will determine eligibility based on the application and information received from the monthly reports submitted.
100% Secretary's Award
- Submit club membership and activity reports via email by the tenth of the month to the following:
- International
- District Governor
- Vice District Governor
- Zone Chair
- Club President
- Attend two zone meetings in person and have representation at all other zone meetings.
- Submit the International PU-101 (report of newly elected club officers) by May 15th to the International Office and Governor Elect.
- Submit applications for any 100% awards to the Zone Chairman within two weeks of the end of the fiscal year.
- Communicate all International, State, District and other club correspondence to your club in a timely manner.
- Complete three of the following:
- All reports required by the District Governor or International Office to be filed in a timely manner.
- Personally sponsor one new member to be inducted prior to June 30th.
- Attend district training for Secretaries.
- Attend a convention of your district or state.
- Attend District Golf or Awards events.
100% Club
- Club must be represented at all zone/region meetings.
- M & A reports must be received by the last day of the month.
- PU-101 reports must be sent by May 15th.
- Dues must be received within 60 days of dues notice.
- Club must conduct a major service activity during the year.
- Club must publicize its activities with copies to District Magazine Chairman and website.
- Club must make a contribution to LCIF and Center for Sight and Hearing.
- Club must purchase or sell the District 1-D Raffle Calendars that have been assigned to the club.
Three-Star Club Guidelines
- Club must plan and conduct an orientation for new members.
- Club must conduct a club membership survey to assist in retaining members.
- Club should report two service activities and two fundraisers activities.
- Club must contribute to the Lions of Illinois Foundation. The contribution may be to any one of the twelve programs or services of the Foundation.
- Club should participate in a local youth activity.
Four-Star club Guidelines
- Add a new fundraiser to the club's list of projects or hold an event that has not been done for at least three years.
- Have at least two members (one being the current President) attend he District or State Convention.
- Show participation of your club in two of the Lions of Illinois Foundation Program.
- Must show a net increase of 1 new member with no more that 2 drops by June 30th.
- Award at least one LIF Fellow and one LCIF Fellow (or two of either one).
- Host a zone or region meeting.
- At least three members should attend the District Officer Training.
- The club should have at least 10% of membership tour the Center for Sight and Hearing, the Lions of Illinois Foundation, or Lions International.
- The Club should participate in the District 1-D Golf Outing.
Five-Star Club Guidelines
There should be a minimum of three club members attending thee of the following events:
- District 1-D Cabinet Meeting (Cabinet members do not count).
- Two zone meetings (Two members other than President or Secretary).
- District or State Convention
- USA/Canada Leadership Forum
- Inter-Club visit (Minimum of five Members).
- Hosting prospective new members dinner.
